Are you looking to add quality Akaushi genetics to your herd? This fall, HeartBrand is offering customers an exclusive opportunity to purchase genetics from the heart of our herd. Whether you are looking for bulls, females or frozen genetics, we welcome any interested party to visit our ranch in Harwood, TX.
“As we leap forward to grow the breed, we are opening up to other progressive ranchers to help expand the breed in size and stature. By growing the breed, we can grow our beef industry, which allows this delicious beef to be enjoyed across our country and the world,” said Jordan Beeman, HeartBrand president.
Each year HeartBrand sells around 400 Akaushi bulls to ranchers via private treaty sales. Choosing Akaushi bulls is a low-risk management practice that provides an immediate opportunity to earn a premium. Half-blood Akaushi offspring are worth more than the average commercial calf. These calves are also candidates for our buyback program.
“I feel the future for Akaushi is tremendous given the increasingly high demand for the beef and nationwide usage of the modern-type beef bulls we develop,” said JoJo Carrales, vice president of cattle operations.
Akaushi females are utilized by ranchers for their high fertility, longevity, udder quality and calving ease. An attractive body type and exceptional carcass traits are added benefits of Akaushi mothers. At HeartBrand we offer females for sale year round. Whether you’re looking for cow-calf pairs, bred heifers or open heifers we have the perfect fit for your cowherd.
“Akaushi cattle consistently produce high quality beef that creates the best eating experience I have ever known. The cattle have also proven to offer great maternal characteristics and acclimatize very well,” said Beeman.
In early 2016, HeartBrand made history with Elgin Breeding Services when we shipped more than 32,440 straws of semen for use in Brazil. Currently, semen is for sale for both domestic and export use. To view the multiple Akaushi bulls available for semen sales, we invite you to flip through our online semen catalog.
“Over the decades, we have noticed that some breeds flat out perform others when it comes to consistently producing semen that is of sufficient quality. We have also seen programs that routinely present sires that are of superior fertility. The Akaushi cattle came with that trait already built in over many generations,” Brad Cardwell, Elgin Breeding Service.
The HeartBrand team is focused on improving the beef industry through diligently maintained Akaushi genetics. At HeartBrand we are dedicated to breeding superior beef and look forward to passing those genetics on to our customers.
