HeartBrand makes NCBA Top 25 List

(Flatonia, Texas – Nov. 10, 2016) Building a high quality herd from the ground up is a top priority for HeartBrand Cattle and the recent NCBA Top 25 Seedstock Producers list proves it.

Passionate about high-quality beef, Jordan and Ronald Beeman saw an opportunity to improve the American beef industry through Akaushi genetics in 2006 when they purchased the HeartBrand entities. The Beeman family sold their branded meats business and dove full force into their mission to revolutionize the beef industry by pushing the boundaries of the performance of cattle and the health benefits and the taste of beef through diligently maintained Akaushi genetics.

“It has been a great pleasure of mine to meet the many rancher who choose to use Akaushi Genetics,” said Jordan Beeman, owner of HeartBrand Cattle and Beef. “It is fun to explain to them how our beef program works and why we want to buy their calves back. The real reward comes when they get their carcass and feedlot data on their cattle, and see that it is possible for them to achieve 30 percent prime with no select.”

Akaushi is the most exciting new breed of cattle. At HeartBrand our passion includes development of the breed, but our focus is the longevity and growth of the American beef industry, said Beeman.

Annually, the National Cattleman’s Beef Association (NCBA) recognizes the top 25 seedstock operations across the country. The operations recognized often represent the tops of their respective breeds. All have created enough interest in their genetics to market at least 200 bulls or so annually.

“Producers all over the world are using HeartBrand’s Akaushi genetics to take their carcass traits to another level,” said JoJo Carrales, vice president of cattle operations. “Being a leader in providing progressive carcass genetics to the world is a honor we don’t take lightly.”

The demand for functional herd sires that will in turn boost carcass value is, and will remain, strong for years to come, said Carrales.

HeartBrand Beef is currently the largest Akaushi herd in the world. The HeartBrand Ranch is headquartered in Harwood, Texas with cooperating ranches located around the U.S. HeartBrand’s Certified Akaushi Beef is supplied through HeartBrand’s own herd of nearly 14,000 Akaushi full-blood or half-blood cattle, cooperating producers and through our buyback program.

“HeartBrand is honored to be selected as one of the Top 25 Steedstock Operators. I feel it is a testament to the Akaushi Breed, and the value that the American Ranchers finds in cattle that perform on the rail while being functional in the pasture,” said Beeman.
